Instructions

  1. Heat the milk in a saucepan or in the microwave until it is lukewarm. Pour the milk into a large cup. Now crumble the yeast and add it to the warm milk. Sprinkle the yeast milk with a little sugar (about a tablespoon) (the yeast will now rise in the milk).
  2. In the meantime, prepare a bowl with the flour. Make a well in the middle of the flour. Put the eggs, sugar (to taste, I always take about 3 - 4 tablespoons) and the yeast milk into the formed well and mix everything very slowly into the flour until a tough, thick dough is formed (the dough must be very thick, otherwise the baking won`t work). Now stir in the raisins. Let the dough rest for about 10-15 minutes.
  3. Stir the dough again. Now prepare a pan with a relatively large amount of oil. Add the dough to the pan in small portions with two tablespoons and slowly bake on both sides over medium heat. Sprinkle the finished struwen with a little sugar and keep warm.
