Instructions

  1. Remove the giblets from the turkey (usually these are bagged in the turkey). Wash the turkey inside and out and dry it with paper towels. Brush the outside of the turkey with honey and season with salt.
  2. Peel the apples, cut them into small pieces and mix with the dried fruit (soak it with a little water for 2-3 hours) and stuff the turkey with it. Close the turkey opening. The easiest way to do this is with wooden toothpicks or roulade needles.
  3. Now place the turkey on the oiled deep baking sheet (drip pan). Peel the onions and halve them together with the whole washed tomatoes around the turkey and fry them in the preheated oven at 220 ° top / bottom heat for about 45 minutes, then continue to cook for at least 7 hours at a low temperature of 80 ° C top / bottom heat. Then set the oven again to 220 ° C for 15 minutes. The turkey will be juicy, tender and nice and crispy on the outside.
  4. Later, take the filling out of the turkey and serve as a side dish.
