Instructions

  1. Drain the pineapple first. Catch the juice, you will need it later. Cut the pineapple rings into pieces. (Do not take pineapple in pieces. Usually it is cut too coarsely into pieces and the quality of the slices is better.) Wash, core and dice the peppers.
  2. Then put vinegar, sugar, salt, tomato paste, soy sauce and sesame oil in a saucepan and heat. First mix the cornstarch in a bowl with a little water until all lumps are gone, then add to the mixture in the saucepan. When the sauce thickens, top up with pineapple juice.
  3. Then add the pineapple pieces and the green bell pepper and simmer over a medium temperature. Stir occasionally to prevent the sauce from burning. Depending on the desired consistency and sweetness, add some pineapple juice or water.
