Instructions

  1. Cut the two slices of bread into not too large cubes. Put some butter in a pan and toast the bread cubes to croutons, set aside.
  2. Cut the lower stalk from the romaine lettuce, cut the lettuce into strips approx. Divide the tomato into 10 roughly equal pieces and if you don`t like them that big, you can cut these pieces in half again across.
  3. Caramelize the sugar in a pan and deglaze with the orange juice. Be careful because the orange juice is boiling quite high, then stir to dissolve the sugar that has settled on the bottom after deglazing.
  4. Add the cream cheese, dissolve. Now cook the chopped tomatoes in the brew, depending on their degree of ripeness, but do not let them boil and only now add the romaine lettuce, stir everything and let simmer for as long as your personal taste allows. I like it a bit crisp.
  5. Place the salad on two plates, distribute the remaining juice in the pan and sprinkle with the croutons that have been set aside.
  6. Of course, you can also season the whole thing in different ways, for example by adding a little cinnamon.
