Grate the zucchini and carrots coarsely or finely, depending on your taste. Coarse rasps do not interfere later in the waffle, with fine rasps a little more water can escape and the dough becomes thinner. Mix butter, sugar, vanilla sugar (or better, homemade real vanilla sugar) and eggs until frothy and stir in the grated vegetables. Then mix the flour with cornstarch, baking powder and salt and stir in as well.
Bake the dough in the waffle iron on high level (level 5 of 6 for me). Makes 8 heart waffles with us.
