Instructions

  1. For the cookie dough, stir the butter in a bowl until creamy, add the sugar and whip everything until frothy. Stir in the vanilla extract and egg. Finally, mix the flour and baking powder together and gradually stir into the dough. At the end, knead the dough by hand into a ball and cut it in half. Color one half with food coloring. It is best to knead with a glove so that your hands stay clean.
  2. Roll out both halves of the dough roughly the same size, rectangular and approx. 0.5 - 1.0 cm thick. Place the light-colored dough on the colored one and roll it up. Wrap the roll tightly in cling film and let it rest in the refrigerator for about an hour.
  3. Then roll through the colorful sprinkles and cut into pieces about 0.5 cm wide. If the crumble doesn`t stick, simply brush the roll with a little melted butter.
  4. Place the biscuits on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and bake for 8-10 minutes at 175 ° C top / bottom heat. They shouldn`t turn brown and can still be a little soft when you take them out of the oven.
  5. Note: These cookies really look great on the coffee table. The small swirl cookies with an extra number of colorful sugar pearls are not only a feast for the eyes, they are also super easy to prepare. There are no limits for the baker when it comes to the color design of the biscuits. How about cookies in the colors of your favorite sports club or your best friend`s favorite color? The sugar pearls can of course also be replaced by other decorations. How about white chocolate shavings or coconut flakes?
