Instructions

  1. Wash the cucumbers, if you like, you can peel and core them and rub them down on the square grater (side for slices). There shouldn`t be whole slices! Put the cucumber mixture in a sieve and season with salt. Let stand for about 1 hour so that the salt can draw the water out of the cucumbers.
  2. In the meantime, finely dice the onions. Then squeeze the cucumber really firmly and mix with onions, dill and spices.
  3. Finally, fold in the mayonnaise by tablespoon, the amount depends on the water content of the cucumber, stir every now and then to see whether the amount of mayonnaise is enough so that the cucumbers do not swim in the sauce afterwards.
  4. We always have this cucumber salad with mashed potatoes and meatballs. It also tastes great with fish (fish fingers). It`s perfect for all kids` parties. Or with grilled meat, there are no limits to the imagination.
