Cut the Chinese cabbage into strips. Cut the onion into small pieces. Peel the potatoes and carrots, then cut into small cubes.
Leave the bacon in a pan, add oil if necessary. Add the diced onion and Chinese cabbage and sauté for a few minutes. Then fill up with vegetable stock, add carrots and potatoes. Steam for about 1 hour at a low temperature, stirring again and again.
Just before serving, add your choice of parsley and / or chives and other spices.
I serve a baguette or roll and a cold beer.
The recipe is also suitable for using leftovers. Aside from the basic ingredients Chinese cabbage, bacon and potatoes, I`ve also put in chopped zucchini, peas, etc. And as always, the same applies here: it tastes even better the next day if it is warmed up.
