Instructions

  1. Spread the butter evenly on both (!) Sides of the toast slices, add a little salt on each side and turn downwards.
  2. On 2 of these slices each a little grated cheese, 4 slices of salami (so that the slice is evenly covered) and then again put some cheese on top, place a slice of bread on it, press down well and season a little salt.
  3. Place half of the ham on two of the remaining slices of cheese and cover with the last two slices.
  4. And then one portion after the other in the waffle iron, squeeze very firmly and bake until the outside is brown and crispy. If you have a well-coated iron, you can still make cheese on the outside of the bread, but watch out, with old irons it`s already attached to me - the two bread slices should really bake together nicely.
  5. If you add a little tomato paste and oregano it tastes like pizza.
  6. Or you put Gorgonzola inside, but little because of the leakage, for a nice, intense taste.
  7. There are no limits to the imagination, only the waffle iron sets limits with the height. But this can be avoided if you use a contact grill.
