Instructions

  1. Lightly crush the clove of garlic with a fork, but do not mince. Mix vinegar, oil, salt, pepper and let the garlic clove soak in it.
  2. Cut open the melon (choose a variety with orange pulp), scrape out the seeds completely with the spoon and cut the pulp and tomatoes into pieces. Chop the basil. Mix with the dressing.
  3. The fruity aroma of the melon is enhanced by the raspberry vinegar. But the most important thing is to get hold of a ripe melon. I always check the degree of ripeness by smelling the melon. Immature melons don`t smell like anything. Ripe melons give off an aroma. The basil can be used liberally.
  4. The recipe is sufficient for 2 people as a main course together with some baguette or for 4 people as a side salad.
