Instructions

  1. Dice the mozzarella & cut the basil into small pieces, then set aside.
  2. Peel and dice the onion and let it turn to glass in a saucepan. Then add tomatoes (passed, and those from the can) and half a glass of water and let simmer.
  3. In the meantime, bring the water to the boil for the gnocchi.
  4. When the gnocchi are in the boiling water, season the sauce (be careful with the cayenne pepper, you can make a mistake and it will be way too hot).
  5. When the gnocchi are done, remove the sauce from the heat and add the mozzarella & basil. Now drain the gnocchi, distribute on plates and pour the sauce over them.
  6. The mozzarella becomes nice and soft and pulls wonderful threads.
