Instructions

  1. First peel the apples and cut into thin slices. Pour apple juice over them so they don`t turn brown.
  2. In another bowl, beat the margarine, sugar and the two eggs until frothy.
  3. Mix the flour with cinnamon, salt and baking powder and stir in briefly alternately with the buttermilk. Finally fold in the apples (with the juice!).
  4. Put the dough in a springform pan lined with baking paper and greased, smooth it out and bake at 180 ° C top / bottom heat for about 45 minutes (if necessary, cover with aluminum foil after 20 minutes, otherwise the cake will be too brown).
  5. The cake cannot be cut so perfectly when it is still warm, but it tastes very, very good! You can dust the dessert cake with powdered sugar or, like me, top it with a ricotta and cinnamon cream (simply stir ricotta with a sip of mineral water, powdered sugar and a little cinnamon).
