Instructions

  1. Total cooking time: approx. 120 min.
  2. Rub the fresh or thawed legs with plenty of salt, pepper and paprika and place in a roasting pan, casserole dish or something similar.
  3. Spread the roughly diced onion and the soup greens around the legs. Add a glass of water (~ 200 ml), brush / baste the legs with 3-4 tablespoons of oil and then place the roaster on the lowest rail in the oven (electric stove) preheated to 200 ° C. Let the legs roast, brushing them with the liquid from the roasting pan from time to time. After approx. 60 minutes, turn the oven down to 180 ° C and fry for another 30 minutes.
  4. Take the roasting pan out of the oven, remove the turkey drumsticks and pour the liquid (with the vegetables) for the sauce into a saucepan. Spread the rest of the oil in the roasting pan, turn the legs in and let them turn brown and crispy on this side at 200 ° C for about 30 minutes.

  6. Work the liquid with the onion and the soup greens with the magic wand, stretch with water as desired and set. I add some sweet cream, pepper and soy sauce to taste. But: There are no limits to personal imagination and preference.

  8. These last 30 minutes before the legs are cut up and served are ideal for cooking side dishes (e.g. boiled potatoes and green beans).
  9. My turkey drumsticks weighed around 1800g. For smaller legs, please shorten the roasting time so that they do not dry out too much.
