Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients together except for the baking powder and flour. Remove a glass from this dough and set it aside, because this will later be the chocolate icing.
  2. Now add the flour and baking powder. Fill the dough into a tall form. Square casserole dishes are well suited, not a baking sheet, because that`s too big.
  3. The cake takes about 45 minutes on gas mark 3. Then take the cake out of the oven and pour the topping over it. The cake should still be nice and hot.
  4. A little tip: Instead of 2 glasses of sugar, I only take one and three sachets of vanilla sugar - otherwise it`s too sweet for me.
  5. As there is often only limited food available in rural Turkish households, this cake also has very simple ingredients. However, this does not detract from the taste.
  6. Use a 200 ml glass to measure.
