Instructions

  1. First prepare the syrup. To do this, put water, sugar and vanilla sugar in a saucepan and bring to the boil. Let cool down well.
  2. Dough:
  3. Beat eggs and sugar until frothy. Add milk, oil, flour (sifted), durum wheat semolina, poppy seeds and baking powder and stir together.
  4. Grease a baking sheet with margarine and dust with flour. Place the dough on the baking sheet and bake at 200 degrees for 20 minutes.
  5. Let the cake cool until it is just lukewarm and then pour the cold syrup over it. When the whole thing is cold, whip the cream with the cream stiffener until stiff and spread it on the cake. Finally, sprinkle the desiccated coconut over the cream.
