If you like to experiment in the kitchen, then prepare an unusual turnip casserole. It is prepared simply: turnip cut into thin slices is baked in the oven with cream, garlic, and suluguni cheese. When baked, the turnip loses its slightly spicy taste and becomes silky and nutritious thanks to the cream and cheese. Very tasty and original!
I have suluguni cheese, you can use whatever you like. The butter should be well chilled.
Peel and rinse the turnip, cut into thin slices or semicircles.
Turn on the oven to heat up to 190 degrees. Put a frying pan (or mold) that can later be used for baking in the oven on the stove over low heat. Melt about 1/4 of the butter in a skillet and add half of the chopped turnips.
Peel and chop the garlic. Spread half the minced garlic evenly on the turnip slices, without removing the pan from the stove. Cut the remaining butter into small slices. Place half of the chopped butter on top of the turnips. Season the pan with lightly salt and pepper.
Drizzle half of the cream over the turnips. Grate the suluguni cheese on a coarse grater. Spread half of the grated cheese evenly on the turnip slices and butter.
Repeat all over again with the remaining foods: a layer of turnips, garlic, butter, salt, black pepper, cream and grated cheese. Do not remove the pan from the fire all this time.
In an oven preheated to 190 degrees, send a frying pan with turnips and bake for 20-25 minutes, until the turnips are cooked and the top layer of cheese is browned.
Turnip casserole with cheese is ready! You can serve the dish immediately after cooking, decorate with herbs.
