Add the vanilla sugar to the milk and heat it in the microwave or in a saucepan (do not boil!). Then froth up with a milk frother and let the milk stand for approx. 1 - 2 minutes so that the foam becomes firmer.
Meanwhile, prepare the espresso and add the cinnamon to the espresso. Then pour the milk and milk foam into a glass and carefully pour in the cinnamon espresso. If the espresso is added too quickly, it mixes and the typical pattern is missing.
