Bring the milk with the sliced vanilla pod to the boil and let it steep. Beat the egg yolks and eggs with 200 g sugar until a light, foamy cream is formed. Add the cooled, strained vanilla milk. Caramelize 200 g sugar with a little water in a pan.
Pour the caramel into flan molds. Pour the egg mixture on top. Let it set in a preheated oven in a water bath at 180 degrees for about 45 minutes to 1 hour.
