Instructions

  1. Grease a 26 springform pan (I prefer to use baking spray).
  2. Preheat the oven to 180 ° C top / bottom heat.
  3. Mix the spelled flour, baking cocoa and baking powder in a large bowl.
  4. Quarter the soft dates and place in a tall container with the water. Process with the hand blender to a homogeneous mass. Add the oil and vanilla extract and mix everything well again with the hand blender.
  5. Now add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix everything well with a wooden spoon until a smooth dough is formed. Put the batter in the springform pan.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven on the middle rack for about 35 minutes. Make a test with a wooden stick. If no dough sticks to the stick, the cake is ready.
  7. Tip: If you like the cake sweeter, you can simply use more dates.
  8. Since the cake is not that extremely sweet, it is also a nice alternative for the very little sweet tooth, for example for a 1st birthday.
