Instructions

  1. First warm up the vegetable milk a little, put it in a bowl and stir the yeast in it. Add the sugar and let it rise.
  2. Meanwhile, let the margarine melt a little in the pot in which the vegetable milk was warmed up beforehand. Mix the soy flour with the water in a bowl. Add the salt and mix with the margarine. Rub the lemon peel and add.
  3. Add the whole mixture to the yeast milk and mix slowly with the flour so that no lumps form. Knead with a dough hook for about 1 - 2 minutes until an elastic dough is formed.
  4. Let the dough rise. Preferably in a warm place with a warm cloth over the bowl. After an hour or two, the dough should have risen well.
  5. Preheat the oven to 180 ° C top / bottom heat.
  6. Braid the dough into a nice yeast plait. You can also make two braids out of it and bake it on a baking sheet.
  7. Mix the soy flour with the vegetable milk and brush the braid with it. With this mixture, the decoration will hold up very well. Garnish with granulated sugar and almond flakes as desired.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven for approx. 35 - 40 minutes with a water bath. The baking time can vary depending on the oven.
  9. The braid should have a nice brown crust and be very loose inside.
