Put all dry ingredients in a mixing bowl. Add the applesauce, oil and water and mix everything into a smooth batter. Stir in fruit, nuts or the like as desired. Divide the batter into approx. 12-16 prepared muffin cases (depending on size).
Bake in the hot oven for about 20 minutes.
Tip: If the applesauce is sweetened, less sugar can be used accordingly.
