Wash the asparagus, peel it thoroughly and cut off approx. 1 cm from the ends. Wash the chilli pepper, cut in half lengthways, core and chop finely.
Melt the margarine together with the finely chopped chilli in a small saucepan. Place the asparagus spears in a wide, greased baking dish or on a deep baking sheet so that the tips point towards the center. Mix the breadcrumbs with the salt, paprika powder and cane sugar and sprinkle evenly over the asparagus. Drizzle the sticks with the chilli margarine and finally pour the white wine all around from the side.
Cook the asparagus in the oven at 180 ° C for about 30 minutes.
The oven asparagus tastes wonderful with boiled potatoes.
