Instructions

  1. Wash the chicken breast fillets, dry them and cut into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Put together with 1 tablespoon olive oil and 1 teaspoon gyros spice in a freezer bag, massage the oil and spice into the meat and let it soak in the fridge for 1-2 hours.
  3. Cook the rice according to the instructions on the packet.
  4. In the meantime, peel and dice the aubergine, courgette, paprika and onion and fry in portions in the remaining olive oil. At the end, mix everything back together in the pan, add the garlic and season with salt, pepper and chilli flakes, if no children are eating.
  5. Put the marinated meat in a hot pan and sear it. The time varies depending on the size of the pieces, of course, but always fry the poultry meat through. Just before the end of the cooking time, add the remaining gyros spice, season with salt and pepper.
  6. Mix the cooked hot rice with the vegetables and the ajvar, season again if necessary with salt, pepper and chilli flakes and serve with the gyros.
  7. The vegetables can of course be exchanged depending on what you have there. The gyros is also very tasty with pork, you can also marinate and sear a few onion rings, which also tastes great.
