Stir the margarine until foamy and slowly add sugar and eggs. Mix the flour with the baking powder, slowly pour in through a sieve and stir in.
Peel, quarter, core and then eighth the apples.
Put half of the dough in a greased springform pan and smooth it out. Place the apples on top in two layers. Pour the remaining dough over it, spread it out and smooth it out.
Bake the cake in the oven on the middle rack for about 65 minutes.
Glaze:
Strain the apricot jam through a sieve and bring to the boil together with the water.
Brush the cake with it immediately after baking and refrigerate.
Sieve the powdered sugar and mix with the lemon juice. Add enough water to create a thin paste. Cover the cooled cake with it.
