Instructions

  1. Remove the outer leaves from the white cabbage, quarter the head, remove the stalk and cut the cabbage into strips.
  2. Peel the onion and chop finely.
  3. Heat some oil in the pan and fry the onion in it. Then take it out and put it in a large saucepan. Put some more oil in the pan and sauté the white cabbage in portions and add to the onions in the saucepan. Heat the oil in the pan again, fry the minced beef in it until crumbly, and then also add to the large saucepan.
  4. Peel the potatoes, cut into cubes and also add to the pot. Chop the peeled tomatoes and put them in the saucepan. Add the caraway seeds, pour in the broth and stir, heat and then simmer covered for at least 45 minutes over medium heat. Stir the stew well every now and then and season well with salt, pepper, cayenne pepper and paprika powder. If you like, you can refine the stew with crème fraîche just before serving.
