Instructions

  1. Core the apples with an apple cutter so that there is a hole in the apple. Prepare 4 empty tumbler glasses with a capacity of 230 ml each.
  2. Mix the softened butter with the sugar and cinnamon. Stir in the almonds and raisins. Pour the mixture into the apples with a teaspoon. Place an apple in each glass (it is not necessary to grease the glasses) and pour a small shot glass (2 cl) full of apple juice over it.
  3. Bake the apples in the jars at 200 ° C (top / bottom heat, preheated) for about 30 minutes without the lid. When the apples are soft, take the jars out of the oven, wipe the edges well (clean edges are very important so that the jars draw a vacuum) and screw the lid on tightly. The closed glasses can be put back in the switched off oven to cool down.
  4. If the jars are tight, the apples will keep for a while, just like cooked fruit. I can`t say anything about the exact shelf life, because we eat the apples away so quickly
  5. Can be eaten cold and warm. Simply heat a jar without a lid briefly in the microwave. Also tastes good with vanilla sauce on top. Can be served in a glass, looks pretty and is something different.
  6. The glass is nicely decorated, maybe with a sachet of vanilla sauce and a pine branch, is a nice homemade Christmas present or souvenir.
