If necessary, strain 750 ml of freshly squeezed orange juice to remove the pulp (or use finished fruit juice without pulp).
Bring the juice to the boil and mix it with sugar or diet sweetener. As soon as the sugar has dissolved, let it cool down. Then add the cinnamon, orange zest, liqueur or orange water and stir together.
Now pour the mixture into a metal bowl and place in the freezer or in the freezer compartment of a refrigerator. Stir well every 20 minutes with a whisk so that no ice crystals form and all ingredients are mixed well. Depending on how cold the freezer or freezer compartment is, this must be repeated 5 to 8 times.
Serve in serving bowls, champagne bowls or cleaned, hollowed out orange halves.
Tip: Garnish with mint and orange fillets or orange slices.
