Rinse the spare ribs with cold water and remove excess fat if necessary. Place the meat in the crockpot.
Mix the remaining ingredients well and pour over the spare ribs.
Set the crockpot to low and cook for about 9-10 hours.
Note: The cooking time depends somewhat on the texture of the ribs and also on personal preference - take a look at the pot after about 8 hours. You can also cover the bottom of the pot with a few onion rings so that nothing sticks.
