1. Beat all the ingredients for the dough well, adding the apples and, if desired, the chopped nuts last. Spread the dough in a greased springform pan and bake at 180 ° top and bottom heat for about 40-50 minutes. If necessary cover with some aluminum foil in the meantime. The baking time can vary a little depending on the oven. When a toothpick comes out of the middle clean and without runny batter, it`s done. The cake should be nice and juicy.
2. Mix powdered sugar, a little cinnamon and water to a glaze and brush the warm cake with it. I only mix a little very thin glaze, otherwise the cake will be too sweet.
3. If you have sweet apples, reduce the sugar a little if you like.
