Mix the sugar, margarine, eggs and vanilla sugar together. Add flour and baking powder and knead everything together until it is roughly crumbly. Pour 2/3 of the dough into the Dutch oven lined with baking paper and form an approx. 3 cm high rim.
Peel the apples, cut into thin wedges and stir in the cinnamon sugar. Then distribute the apple wedges on the dough in a fan shape. Finally, pour the remaining dough crumbly over the top.
Place the Dutch Oven on the briquettes, 3 briquettes below and 8 briquettes above. Now bake the cake for 40 - 50 minutes, but be careful with the coals at the bottom, because the cake can burn easily.
I like cream and coffee best with it.
The ingredients are calculated for a Dutch Oven with a volume of 4 liters.
