Instructions

  1. Steam the onion in the butter until translucent.
  2. Add the rice, the liquid and the spices and simmer over a low heat, stirring frequently. If necessary, add a little more liquid.
  3. After about 20 minutes add the apples and let simmer for another 5-10 minutes.
  4. Now taste again.
  5. In Namibia, the dish is often served with briefly fried meat or grilled meat.
