My mother-in-law`s mother made the recipe like this:
Peel the asparagus carefully and cut off the ends. Then cook for about 18 minutes in enough salted water with a little butter and sugar.
In the meantime, melt the 100 g butter in a saucepan and let it get hot (but not too long!). Add the breadcrumbs and brown, stirring constantly (with a whisk). During the process, the mass foams up several times - then take it off the stove briefly and stir until the foam has set repeat the procedure until the mass appears brown enough.
Finally, season with about 1 teaspoon of leveled salt (more or less, depending on your taste) and pour over the cooked asparagus.
We like to serve broccoli, boiled potatoes and grilled pork loin (only seasoned with salt).
