- 500 g asparaus
- Salt water
- some butter
- some sugar
- 100 g butter
- 40 g breadcrumbs, fine
- 1 teaspoon, leveled salt, approx

- My mother-in-law`s mother made the recipe like this:
- Peel the asparagus carefully and cut off the ends. Then cook for about 18 minutes in enough salted water with a little butter and sugar.
- In the meantime, melt the 100 g butter in a saucepan and let it get hot (but not too long!). Add the breadcrumbs and brown, stirring constantly (with a whisk). During the process, the mass foams up several times - then take it off the stove briefly and stir until the foam has set repeat the procedure until the mass appears brown enough.
- Finally, season with about 1 teaspoon of leveled salt (more or less, depending on your taste) and pour over the cooked asparagus.
- We like to serve broccoli, boiled potatoes and grilled pork loin (only seasoned with salt).
