Flatten each toast slice with a rolling pin to approximately 2-3mm thickness. Brush each flattened slice lightly with soft butter on one side. Press the buttered slices into 5 of the 6 cavities in a 12-cup muffin tin, buttered side down.
Place one slice of bacon or ham in each muffin cup. Crack one egg into the center of each cup. Season with salt and pepper.
Bake for 15 minutes, or until egg whites are fully set.
