- Wash the apples, remove the casing and cut into wedges. Don`t peel. Halve the vanilla pod.
- Put all ingredients in a large saucepan and stir vigorously. Cover and leave to stand for 2 weeks.
- If you like, you can try it in between and possibly sweeten it up. Pass the liquid through a sieve and fill into clean bottles.
- Serve the baked apple schnapps hot in pinnecks with a dash of cream and a straw.
- Tip: Do not throw away the pickled apples. You can use this for an apple pie.
