Dissolve the dry yeast with the sugar and a little lukewarm water and knead with the flour, water, oil and salt to form a pizza dough. Let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour. Ready-made pizza dough from the refrigerated shelf can also be used when things need to be done quickly.
Then divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and roll out elongated flatbreads from them so that a sausage fits in.
Place a sausage on each of the flatbreads, brush the sausage with mustard and ketchup and sprinkle with approx. 1 teaspoon of fried onions. Then wrap the protruding dough around the sausage so that nothing looks out.
Place the dough pieces on a baking sheet and brush with the egg yolk (mixed with a little water). Bake at 200 ° C for about 20 minutes, until the hot dogs are golden brown.
Can be easily eaten out of hand and will definitely also taste good cold as a snack on the next hike. As a variant for the next party, you can do the whole thing with cocktail sausages as small snacks!
