- Peel and slice the pumpkin. (Caution: do not cut thin slices if the pulp is tender, otherwise they will disintegrate when frying.
- Season the pumpkin slices with salt. Bread with flour, egg and breadcrumbs.
- Bake in melted fat in a pan until they are golden yellow and turn.
- Place the schnitzel on kitchen paper and allow excess fat to drain off.
- If you want, you can refine the finished schnitzel with lemon.
- Ideal substitute for Wiener Schnitzel for vegetarians! Tastes particularly good with potato and cucumber salad.
