- In a bowl, mix together the melted butter, 1 pinch of salt, 4 tablespoons sugar, 3 eggs, and 500g quark until well combined.
- Fold in the 50g flour and 25g breadcrumbs until the mixture is uniform.
- Bring lightly salted water to a boil in a large saucepan over high heat.
- Reduce heat to medium so the water simmers gently (not a rolling boil).
- Wet two spoons with water, then use them to form the quark mixture into oval lobes and gently drop each into the simmering water.
- Simmer for 10 minutes until the dumplings cook through.
- Remove the cooked dumplings with a slotted spoon and transfer to a serving dish.
- In a pan, melt the 100g butter over medium heat.
- Gently toss the warm dumplings in the melted butter to coat evenly.
- Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
- Serve immediately, optionally with cherry or plum compote. For dessert portions, halve all recipe quantities.
