Just a few simple ingredients and very little time are enough to turn an ordinary cooked sausage into an original dish. Based on the Leningrad style sausage recipe.
Cut the boiled sausage into 1.5 cm thick semicircles.
Make the batter: In a bowl, mix together milk, egg, and mayonnaise. Add salt to taste. Stir in flour until the batter is thick enough to coat the sausage without running off.
Dip each sausage piece into batter to coat completely.
Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat until shimmering.
Working in batches, fry the battered sausage pieces 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown, adding more oil as needed.
Drain the fried sausage on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
