Remove the stalk from the white cabbage, quarter and cut into strips.
Heat the fat in a large roasting pan, sweat the diced onion and the brown sugar in it.
Gradually add the cabbage strips, stir well again and again so that everything can brown well. Then pour in the vegetable stock, salt, pepper and add the caraway powder. Let simmer in the closed roaster for approx. 60 minutes.
Also great for freezing and tastes a little better when warmed up.
