Mix the butter, sugar, eggs and flour into a thick batter. You don`t need (!) Baking powder. Spread the dough on a small greased sheet or in a greased springform pan. Then use a fork to draw a grid pattern on the surface. Whisk the egg yolks with the milk or cream and brush the dough with it.
Bake in a preheated oven at 170 ° C for about 25 minutes.
Tip: You can of course replace the salted butter with normal butter, but then add a good pinch of salt.
Notes: Don`t worry, the cake doesn`t taste (!) Salty. It does not get very high, so it can be cut into small pieces of approx. 4 cm x 4 cm. Well packaged, it stays fresh for a long time. This is a cake for people who don`t like a lot of frills.
The cake was supposed to be baked in a 20 cm springform pan, but it got too dark on the outside and ran away from me on the inside. So it`s better to use a small sheet or a large springform pan.
