Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add smoked bacon and cook for 3-4 minutes until starting to brown. Add the minced meat or pork (diced or cut into strips) and cook for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned through (pork internal temperature must reach 63°C / 145°F). Add diced onions, carrot, and garlic, then sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened. Stir in the tomato paste.
  2. Pour in the beans with all their liquid from both glasses. Add broth until everything is just covered with liquid. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  3. Reduce heat to medium. Add savory, basil, pepper, sugar, caraway seeds, and Worcester sauce. Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add flour dough or sauce thickener as needed to achieve your desired consistency.
  4. Remove from heat. Gently stir in the sour cream. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
  5. Serve with boiled potatoes or fresh bread.
