Wash the broccoli and cut into small florets, remove the stalk and the thicker stems.
Stew the broccoli in a large saucepan with a little water (approx. 1 - 2 cm high) with a little salt for approx. 5 - 10 minutes until the desired bite is achieved. Pour off the water except for a small amount and add butter as you like, salt again if necessary and rub a little nutmeg over the broccoli.
If you want something a little more generous: Melt the butter in a pan and fry the breadcrumbs in it until crispy and lightly salt. Pour the toasted butter breadcrumbs over the broccoli on the plate.
About 1 tablespoon of butter and 1 tablespoon of breadcrumbs per person.
