If you like, you can add raisins or chocolate chips to the ingredients.
Preheat the oven to 225 degrees (top / bottom heat).
Put all ingredients in a mixing bowl and stir with the dough hook of the hand mixer. Knead the dough into a ball and let it rest in the refrigerator for 10 minutes covered.
Then shape the dough into small balls, flatten them a little and place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Let rest for another 5 minutes, then bake for 12 to 15 minutes until golden yellow.
Let cool a little until the scones are lukewarm, then cut open. Butter the halves and coat with strawberry jam. Put a dollop of double cream or clotted cream on top. This goes well with tea with cream and sugar.
