Indian chicken is a delicious dish, known not only in India and the countries of Southeast Asia, but all over the world! You can cook Indian chicken in a saucepan on the stove, multicooker or oven.
Chop the onion into small pieces, mince the garlic cloves, and grate or finely chop the ginger.
Heat the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onions are golden brown. Add the ginger and cook for 1 minute more.
Reduce the heat to low. Add the curry, turmeric, coriander, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Stir well and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
Dice the tomatoes into small cubes.
Cut the chicken into chunks. In a small bowl, mix turmeric, chili powder, coriander, ginger, salt, and pepper. Add this spice mixture to the chicken and stir until evenly coated. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Add the diced tomatoes to the skillet. Simmer covered over medium-low heat for 10-15 minutes until the tomatoes soften and release their juices.
Add the marinated chicken to the skillet, scraping in any spices from the bowl. Stir to combine.
Cover the skillet and cook over medium-low heat for 1 hour, stirring every 5-7 minutes. The chicken is done when it reaches an internal temperature of 74°C (165°F).
