Chili Hot Dogs Instructions

  1. Cut the tomato, red onion, and chili pepper into small cubes.
  2. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the diced onion and cook for 2-3 minutes until softened.
  4. Add the diced tomato and chili pepper, and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Stir in the beans in tomato sauce and tomato paste. Add salt and sugar to taste.
  6. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. While the chili simmers, cut the pickled cucumber into rings.
  8. Heat a separate frying pan over medium heat. Split each hot dog bun and toast for 2-3 minutes until lightly golden, then transfer to plates.
  9. In another frying pan over medium-high heat, cook the sausages for 5-7 minutes until browned on all sides.
  10. Grate the hard cheese using a coarse grater.
  11. Place lettuce leaves on top of each toasted bun.
  12. Top with pickled cucumber rings.
  13. Place 2 sausages on top of the pickles.
  14. Sprinkle half of the grated cheese over the sausages.
  15. Spoon the chili bean mixture over the cheese.
  16. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
  17. Serve immediately.
