In a small saucepan, bring 3/4 l water with the cinnamon stick and cloves to the boil and simmer for about 10 minutes.
Add sugar and orange peel and continue to simmer until the sugar has completely dissolved. Sprinkle in the coffee, simmer for another 3 minutes, then set the saucepan aside and let it stand, covered, until the coffee has set, then pour through a sieve and serve.
