First mix the applesauce with cinnamon and roughly chopped walnuts to taste, if you don`t like walnuts, you can leave them out. If you want to make the applesauce yourself, simply peel the apples, cut them into small pieces and cook them with a little water until they have softened, season with cinnamon and sugar.
Then simply knead the ingredients from butter to flour into a nice dough and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces.
Roll out each piece of dough into a round shape, about 2 mm thick, and cut into a star shape using a knife or pizza cutter. Then spread a teaspoon of cold applesauce at each beginning of the dough pieces, roll up the pieces like croissants and place on a baking sheet with baking paper. If you want, you can brush it with a beaten egg, but you don`t have to.
Bake at 200 ° C until the cookies are golden brown. After cooling, dust with powdered sugar.
The cookies taste best when they are not so fresh and crunchy, but rather soft.
