Boil water, salt. Sift the groats. Pour sifted cereals into boiling salted water and cook, stirring occasionally, over low heat for 3-5 minutes, until the water is absorbed.
Then pour in boiling milk, stir and continue to cook over low heat for another 15-20 minutes.
Add 1 tablespoon. of sugar (2 tablespoons of sugar if served if desired) and butter. Delicious cornmeal porridge is ready.
Serve butter and sugar with cornmeal porridge in milk.
