Sieve the flour into a bowl, crack the eggs and add them. Sprinkle salt on the flour and pour in the water. Beat the dough until it bubbles. If necessary, add a little more water.
Using a spaetzle slicer, slice portions into boiling salted water. When the spaetzle rise, skim off with a skimmer and keep warm in a sufficiently large saucepan! Do not let the spaetzle cool down!
Season the cream with salt and pepper and let it get hot in a small saucepan. Cut the ham into cubes and add to the cream.
Sprinkle grated cheese on the spaetzle and immediately pour in the cream. Mix well quickly with a wooden spoon.
